Read all about it here...
Q: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
A: We are not that traditional so we had actually gotten married in Vegas and planned a reception in KC to celebrate with our family and friends. We also wanted to be able to say our vows in front of everyone and get our two beautiful children involved.
Q: Let's talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
A: Almost all my decorations were DIY. We put togeher all the lantern centerpieces for the tables. My best friend and I just spent a day drinking wine and putting them together lol. It wasn't easy bit it definitely saved me a lot of money. My husband made all the games himself including the personalized corn hole game and giant manga that we had our guests write memories or well wishes on. That was a lot of fun to read while playing a couple weeks after the reception.
Q: What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
A: We went with a blush and off white color scheme for everything.
Q: Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
A: We had the Phil Vandel band who are great. We also had lots of fun games like giant manga, beer pong, and corn hole. Everything was personalized and with out wedding colors.
Q: Let's talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
A: We wanted a slight vintage kind of look. I went for a champaigne color dreds as opposed to white and the groom went with a dark grey.
Q: How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
A: We actually met over the internet lol. We went out to an arcade bar, clicked and have been together ever since then. Shaun proposed to me at Seven Falls in Colorado over my birthday weekend. It was perfect because somehow we got lucky and there was almost no else there. It was just the two of us in front of the beautiful waterfall and he got on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so surprised. I had no idea which is funny because he had the ring case sticking out of his pants am night and I somehow didn't notice.
Q: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
A: There were too many moments to count. The day had its ups and downs but it was a great time. It was all worth it to be able to share our love for each other in front of the people we love the most.
Q: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day?
A: Make sure to have an outline for the day and designate someone to keep you on so what of a schedule. Just make sure to have fun and enjoy your day with family and friends.
