“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,
And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.”
― William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream
Yes! I am a William Shakespeare FAN! I own a collection of his works and was mesmerized as a child and would read for hours, and I remember seeing my first Shakespeare play, which was "As You Like It."
Needless to say, Sara from Sara Tiffany Photography has made me fall in love with Shakespeare all over again. This styled shoot is full of wondrous color of life and is a perfect theme for a small intimate wedding. This styled shoot is full of nuggets of inspiration and is a must to have on your pinterest pins for sure!
Thank you to all the vendors who made this whimisical celebration available to share with our readers!
The inspiration for this shoot came from the venue itself during the summer nights in Charles City, Virginia. The atmosphere is warm and golden almost fairy like when the light twinkles through the lush trees. Cary Hill has a natural whimsical look to its outdoors with historic Virginia charm. When discussing vision, the vendors immediately agreed upon a styled shoot that was reminiscent of William Shakespeares play a Mid Summer Nights Dream. The vendors wanted an enchanted garden feel with elaborate greenery mixed with bold plums and burgundies highlighted throughout the shoot. We accented with blush and navy tones with just a touch of sparkle by bringing in gold and crystal elements.?
The David Tutera Dress was the perfect final touch to the shoot. (David Tutera for Mon Cheri, Style 117283 Orabelle) Suzy Mathews with Kalos Designs knocked it out of the park with the stationary!
Our couple Katie and Alex made it even better. They have been married for five years and our both worship leaders and have such a great love not only for each other, but also for Christ. The couple, a true romantic love story, got to have the wedding they never had due to a deployment. Thank you for your service Alex! I love working with real life couples because of how authentic the chemistry is between them. A HUGE thank you to Sarah-Daye of Night and Daye Events for bringing the vision to life as well as The Flower Cupboard for going above and beyond with the amazing florals and decor. The goal of this styled shoot was to bring romance and a whimsical evening throughout all parts. From the flowers, decor, the dress, and the actual couple it truly was a Shakespeare play brought to life. It was easy to capture our vision through my lens when you have such talented professionals to work with.?
