Galveston Island is an island city on the Gulf Coast of Texas. What a charming location for an Elopement!

This is what Degrees North Photography had to say...
Tamara and Josh eloped in Galveston, Texas. Josh had moved for his job to do work at the University of Texas Medical Branch Campus in Galveston. He was assigned to repair work from damages done in 2008 during Hurricane Ike. Tamara, a Canadian citizen was still in Canada and the two were holding down a several years long distance relationship when they decided it was time for her to start the process of moving to the United States so they could be together permanently.
With not a lot of time to plan, and the pressure of navigating the various laws that are encountered when pledging your life to a citizen of a foreign country, they decided to keep it simple. They had a private ceremony with a Justice of the Peace followed by a celebratory elopement photo session at some other their favorite Galveston locations.
We started at the Ashbel Smith Building at the UTMB campus where Josh is currently working. Tamara loves the building. From there we moved into the historic neighborhoods around the medical district and used some of the very cool historic homes as backdrops. When the sun was lower in the summer sky, we headed to a little community called Beachtown, sunk our toes in the sand and enjoyed the sunset.
