Lindsay and Brian, both from The Carolinas, North and South, met in Ga and are tying the knot next year. Their engagement session was held in the beautiful Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA.
Thank you to Aline Marin Photography for sharing this gorgeous engagement session! You've captured the essence of their love for eachother beautifully!
Here's Lindsay and Brian's love story!
Q: Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?
A: Brian and I met through work! From colleagues, to friends, and then he finally asked me out on a dinner date. ;) The rest is history and we have been inseparable ever since.
Q: What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. (example: pushing each other to new limits, love to travel, huge comic book fans, foodies, etc.) What makes your relationship unique?
A: Brian and I share a deep passion for living in the present - to be in the moment and live fully. We share a love for travel, nature, and food and look for adventures when we explore different cities. We are lucky enough to have traveled the East Coast, Amsterdam, England, Scotland, and Thailand together enjoying the culture, food, and adventures. When you find someone who loves food as much as you, you marry them!
Q: How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship? (these may often be the same moment, but aren’t always)
A: Ever since we started dating I knew Brian and I had something special. A feeling that was unexplainable. I felt in love, calm, free, safe and alive all at the same time in his presence. Every morning since we started dating Brian has always made my coffee, I mean always. Last Fall Brian injured his leg and we had to go to the emergency room where they put him on crutches. The next morning I woke up from our fort we had setup in the living room. Brian had hopped over to the kitchen before I woke up to make me coffee. It's the little things where he puts me first and shows me how much he cares and loves for me daily that I knew he was the one. I have never loved anyone so much in my life.
Q: Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?
A: Brian pulled off an amazing surprise engagement on our trip to Thailand! How did he hide the ring through all of those flights, hotels, and island hopping? The trip started out where we explored temples and rooftop bars in Bangkok, chased waterfalls and washed elephants in the jungles in Chiang Mai, and snorkeled in the crystal blue waters on Phi Phi Island. We arrived to our last resort and had 3 days left on the trip. The next day we relaxed by our private pool, enjoyed the spa, then got ready for happy hour on the beach. We drank out of coconuts and watched the sunset on the Andaman Sea. The view was breath taking and the sky colorful. Brian asked me to go for a walk and we reminisced on the last 2 weeks exploring all that Thailand had to offer. He looked at me and said "Before we end the trip, I still have to ask you one question." He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said "OF COURSE!!". We celebrated that night with dinner on the beach and champagne.
Q: We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring!
A: It's a beautiful solitaire setting with a diamond band, simple but classy and elegant! Brian and I went ring shopping in Atlanta together and had such a wonderful experience. It really brought us closer together and got us more excited about spending our lives together.
Q: Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet?
A: Wedding planning has begun! We are both originally from the Carolinas and will be getting married in my home town Charleston, South Carolina. We both have a love for nature and will be getting married at McLeod Plantation. The ceremony will be under the oaks and a reception outside on the plantation filled with southern food, dancing, and celebration.
